THE BOOK

A KIND OF MAGIC follows four teenagers’ enthusiasm for the band Queen, especially their frontman Freddie Mercury. Set during the summers of 1985 and 1986, story kicks-off with a big Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium, bringing us back to the same venue a year later, to a Queen concert.
As the story opens, the reader cheers for our four protagonists to achieve their high goal, to meet Freddie Mercury in person somehow. Such an opportunity is offered several times, but it always slips out of their hands. Running away from home to attend the famous Queen’s concert at Wembley on 12th of July 1986, despite their parents’ ban, brings all four under house arrest.
